Szenebild_

The ink drawings of the Szenebild_ series trigger a permanent picture-reading. Pictorial spaces and situations intertwine in passionate dissatisfaction until only drawing itself remains. This supposedly obtained essence is immediately withdrawn, in that the works are only exhibited in digitized and reproduced forms.

Greatly enlarged and digitized, the paper appears to have been soaked and scraped by the coarse bamboo pen and ink. Furrows and valleys have been dug into the sodden fibres, platforms have shaped from dried ink markings,  skid lines are left where the drying pen tip dragged over the rough paper surface.

Dimmed to 2 dimensions, the resulting levees and landscapes are now called "lines and shapes" that instinctively want to be read as such.
